Lonerism (Life Cycle of Lonely)

The moment I start a post by using too many I it gives it a little bit of an implication that it might be too personal. Most of my personal posts are dramatic and annoying, even if I have to say so myself. This post is a general overview of how loneliness is more of a trait and not a habit, illustrate the cycle with words a bit. Need I mention, it’s not a personal post so there is even a slight chance that this subject and I may be completely unrelated.

In psychology with every diagnosis you have to consider first and most importantly the onset of a psychosis or disorder. I take that’s the general rule of diagnosis, great way of discovering the root of the problem. Loners probably know they are going to be when they are born. In short I would say loneliness takes a very early onset. (I’m probably in this pool of people) If you know those kids who always want to stay in class during the tea break and would rather be hanging upside down reading a car magazine than playing normal games like normal children. It honestly isn’t even a thing you get to choose, “Oh totally, I’m gonna hang out with the popular children and dye my hair purple.” At that age you already know you’re an outsider and you give very little effort in trying to be otherwise.

You’re going to get older and realise that perhaps other people had better lives than you while you were too busy trying to spell the word “metamorphosis” and to know as many words from the English dictionary as you can. Then again you listen to their conversation and their crumbling vocabulary disgusts you and their phonie american accents make you feel sick to your stomach and oh man you need to be alone some more. What sucks is that around you ‘uninteresting’ lifestyle you’ll always manage to create something that irrestible to people and so you can barely avoid them. And all you really want to do is spend the rest of you days backpacking alone or just spending Saturdays in a dough covered face and some cook books.

It is suffocating to be where you are as a loner, wherever it may be. You’re alone and you’re content but there’s always going to be a glow within you that the rest of the world is a attracted to the way summer insects are to a fluoroscent light bulbs and it seems selfish for you not to share that glow. If you do you pain yourself, the light then dims. Too many opinions, too many comparisons, too many competitors. When all you want to do is share all this love that you have had in store for years.

In the end you get what you want, you’ll always have that nice single bed and some nice sheets and some plants and dream catchers and music and some music…perhaps in a foreign land where you don’t speak the language and so being a loner is effortless. If you’ve always been a loner, you’ll alway be. No matter how big a circle of friends you’re involved/inlove with. It may be a little hard being me, given that I have to pretend this post is not personal and all. Good humor comes in many forms.
